Your turn 👀 What have you changed your mind on si Your turn 👀

What have you changed your mind on since becoming a mom?

Motherhood was one of the biggest catalysts that pushed me to dig deeper into true health and wellness.

The more I researched the things I had been taught, the more questions I had.

The more questions I asked, the more I realized that some of the things I accepted as fact deserved a second look.

I started reading studies for myself. Listening to different perspectives. Looking at outcomes and other mother’s stories instead of simply repeating what I’d been told.

I became more willing to challenge my own beliefs, more willing to admit when I’d changed my mind, and more willing to go against the grain.

I am so grateful for the growth, the enlightenment, the way it has affected my health, my husband’s health, my motherhood journey, my children, and every aspect of our lives.

I’m curious, what is something you have completely changed your mind on since becoming a parent?
Want my recipe + method, comment BROTH below and I Want my recipe + method, comment BROTH below and I’ll send it your way!

My husband picked up our cow today, and we ran out of freezer space, so I was forced to process over 150 pounds of bones.

One of the biggest reasons we buy beef by the whole cow is because I get to keep everything - the bones, tallow, suet, organs, oxtail, ALLLLLL of it.

It saves us thousands of dollars every year, supports a local family farm we know and trust, and allows us to use parts of the animal that most people never even think about. (Let me know if you’d like our cutting instructions. After 8 or so cows, I think we’ve got it down to a science.)

Nothing goes to waste over here.

Making your own bone broth is actually super easy; it’s just a time commitment. Though if you do smaller batches and use a pressure cooker, it will definitely take you MUCH less time.

You end up with a richer, more nutrient-dense, and way better tasting broth than you could ever find in the store, and this was essentially free because if I didn’t ask for the bones, they would just throw them away!!

I make my bone broth completely plain. No garlic, no onion, nothing.

I add all of that when I actually use it, so I can throw it in anything. Soups, stews, sauces, rice, mac & cheese, and yes, even bone broth hot chocolate, which is genuinely not the same when your broth tastes like onion 😂

Stay tuned for part 2, where I strain everything and show you what the finished broth looks like!

How many quarts do you think I’ll end up with? 👀

Comment BROTH and I’ll send you my recipe + method.

Would you be interested in learning how to pressure can? I promise you can do it. It’s not hard or scary.

A little behind the scenes of content creation ⬇️ A little behind the scenes of content creation ⬇️

I’ve been at this for just over 2 years. And in that time, this incredible community has grown to 102k on Instagram and 52K on Facebook.

That’s truly insane to me.

So, first of all, let me shout out YOU.

None of what I have accomplished on here would have been possible without you. Your support; liking, sharing, commenting, using my links and discount codes, messages, encouragement – just alllll of it. I am so thankful. (And obv, thank you, God, the real MVP here).

In all that time, and the 581 posts I currently have on my page, I’ve only done one paid brand deal. And it was just last month. (Shout out to all of you who commented and engaged in those stories, I am SO thankful for you. You are truly just THE BEST community everrrr!)

It isn’t that I haven’t wanted to, or that brands haven’t reached out, but because I’ve been busy being a mom, working as an ER Nurse, building other businesses, running a farm, supporting my husband’s NP journey, getting my health and fitness in order, moving clear across the country… you get the picture - living life and trying to fit this into the margins.

So, that brings us to this video. I submitted it a couple of weeks ago to be a part of a creator database that connects creators to brands.

It definitely felt vulnerable to hit submit. And even more vulnerable to share this side with you.

I think people often see creators with big numbers and just assume it = big money.

Don’t get me wrong, because of some really risky but in the end semi-smart financial decisions with our careers and real estate (if you want to know more about that, lmk), and the affiliate income I’ve earned sharing products I genuinely use, love, and trust, I was able to step away from bedside nursing just over a year ago.

That has been the biggest blessing. To not have to leave my children for 12-hour shifts, to be the one who raises them, wakes up with them, hangs out with them, and loves on them every single day.

PSA: you don’t need to be an herbalist to learn ho PSA: you don’t need to be an herbalist to learn how to identify plants, herbs, weeds, berries, and trees in your area.

In fact, one of the first things you SHOULD learn is which plants are toxic.

Knowing how to identify poison hemlock, poison ivy, toxic mushrooms, poisonous berries, or other dangerous plants isn’t fear mongering, it’s basic outdoor literacy.

And you don’t need a degree for that.

The goal isn’t to be afraid of nature. It’s to be able to understand it.

Know what to avoid so that when you want to start foraging for other useful, safe, and medicinal plants, you’ll know what to avoid and which ones are safe.

And while we are on the subject…

Telling mothers they aren’t qualified to:
- learn about herbs
- identify plants
- use natural remedies
- care for their children when they’re sick
- research health and wellness topics

simply because they don’t have a specific degree is an insult to their intelligence.

No, moms shouldn’t assume they know everything.

But they absolutely should be curious, informed, educated, and constantly learning.

You don’t need a degree to learn.

You need humility, discernment, and a willingness to keep educating yourself.

That’s exactly what I’m encouraging people to do.

And I’ll stand up to anyone who has that mindset - moms should never be belittled or bullied and we won’t stand for that in my corner of the internet.

What are your thoughts on this?

Sunglasses are polarized and came in a 3-pack. I think I paid $12 for the set. Love them and have had them for a year and a half 🙌🏼 (and moms know you can’t buy expensive glasses anymore! These are greattttttt!)

The jumpsuit is from years ago and I couldn’t find any stores selling it. But I found a few of them for sale on poshmark that are the same brand just different color ways. Found as many as I could so hopefully you can find your size!

⚠️ POISON HEMLOCK - HOW TO IDENTIFY ⚠️ Listen, yo ⚠️ POISON HEMLOCK - HOW TO IDENTIFY ⚠️

Listen, you can do whatever you’re comfortable with.

As for me? If there’s a plant that can be deadly if ingested, is especially dangerous for children, pets, and livestock, and can make people sick if it’s burned and inhaled, I’m not taking chances.

Poison hemlock (Conium maculatum) is one of the most toxic plants in North America. Every part of the plant contains toxic alkaloids, including the leaves, stems, roots, flowers, and seeds.

HOW TO IDENTIFY:
• The stem is smooth (not hairy!), hollow, and often has distinctive purple or reddish blotches or streaks.
• It can grow 6–10+ feet tall.
• It is commonly mistaken for wild carrot, Queen Anne’s lace, parsley, fennel, and other members of the carrot family.
• Children are at higher risk because of their smaller body size and natural tendency to explore, touch, taste, and put things in their mouths.
• The sap can cause irritation in some people, so gloves are recommended when handling it, especially if you have cuts or broken skin, as it can be absorbed into the bloodstream.
• Ingestion is the primary danger and can lead to serious poisoning that affects the nervous system and can cause respiratory failure and death.
• There is NO antidote
• Never burn poison hemlock. Smoke from burning plants can contain toxic compounds that may cause respiratory symptoms and failure if inhaled.

Could you touch it and be completely fine? maybe.

But with toddlers, pets, livestock, and curious kids around, I personally don’t see a reason to gamble on a plant that has poisoned people and animals throughout history.

Know how to identify it. Teach your kids not to eat unknown plants. And when in doubt, remove it safely.

You can touch it if you want. I’m not your mom, and I’m not telling you what you should do with your life.

But I’m still not risking it.

And, really, why would you?

Do with that what you will. Poison Control is 1-800-222-1222 if you need it.

⚠️ POISON HEMLOCK - Know Before You Go⚠️ This pla ⚠️ POISON HEMLOCK - Know Before You Go⚠️

This plant is everywhere right now in Idaho and across the US, and it is deadly. There is no antidote. I found it growing in my own yard a couple of months back while my daughter was out there helping me weed, and it stopped me cold. She had almost picked it.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: It looks like a harmless wildflower - lacy white flowers, fern-like leaves, purple-spotted or splotched hollow stems, hairless/smooth stems. People mistake the flowers for Queen Anne’s Lace all the time. And the leaves for carrots or other plants in the carrot family.

But it is poisonous - HIGHLY poisonous.

HOW IT KILLS: Ingestion of any part of it causes progressive paralysis that shuts down your respiratory system.

It was used to execute Socrates for a reason.

You don’t even have to eat it to get hurt.

Sap in your eyes can cause serious damage

Sap in an open cut can enter your bloodstream

And whatever you do, please do not burn it because the fumes are just as toxic and will affect your lungs and eyes, and can cause respiratory failure.

Every single part of this plant is poisonous: leaves, stems, seeds, roots, all of it.

⚠️ Parents and Grandparents especially:  the flowers are blooming right now, and they’re pretty, and your kids ARE going to want to pick them.

Show them this plant, show them this video, and make sure they know how to identify it, and not to touch it.

If you think someone has been exposed, call Poison Control immediately at 1-800-222-1222.

Go check your yards and share this with anyone who spends time outside.

The sunscreen conversation nobody had with us growing up - but one we’re having now.

Most conventional sunscreens are loaded with harsh chemicals with scary side effects.

We deserve better. Our kids deserve better. And I’m not taking chances with my kids’ skin. Especially because there are such great options out there now!

The good news: mineral sunscreen with non-nano zinc oxide sits on the skin, blocks UV rays physically, and doesn’t absorb. And when you pair it with nourishing ingredients like grass-fed tallow, beeswax, and mango butter, you get protection and skin that actually feels good.

My two favorites right now 🌿

@primallypure — tallow-based, seed oil-free, just 9 clean ingredients, grass-fed tallow sourced from U.S. farms using only pure suet (not mixed fats like most brands). Unscented option available for sensitive skin + little ones. Use code VITALITYASH for 10% off — and right now they’re offering a FREE soothing mist with any sun cream purchase!

TEAM TEAT-TO-TABLE FOREVERRRRRR 🐄🐮🤠 We absolutely TEAM TEAT-TO-TABLE FOREVERRRRRR 🐄🐮🤠

We absolutely learned to pasteurize for a reason.

That reason was filthy industrial farming conditions, overcrowded sick cows, poor sanitation, and lack of refrigeration - not because fresh milk from healthy animals was inherently toxic.

Raw milk from a clean, transparent farm with healthy grass-fed cows and proper handling is VERY different than milk coming from massive industrial systems. Sourcing matters.

And statistically speaking, raw vegetables have historically caused significantly more foodborne illness outbreaks than raw milk… yet nobody’s calling moms dumb for feeding their kids salad. 🥦😅

I’m not telling everyone to drink raw milk. I’m saying there’s a huge difference between blindly consuming something and intentionally sourcing it.

So, yes, I am a proud member of team teat-to-table 🐄🥛

And I don’t think that’s dumb at all.

Raw milk is a SUPER FOOD, babyyyyy 💪🏼

MOO. 🐮
